Determine Your Apple Watch Screen Size

When buying Apple Watch bands, you just need to know if you own the small screen, large screen or Ultra version of the Apple Watch. Bands will then either fit the small screen version or the large screen version of the Apple Watch regardless of series.

Usually the series and screen size of your Apple Watch are printed on the back of your Apple Watch.

Small Screens

Apple Watch Series 0,1,2,3 are 38mm.

Apple Watch Series 4,5,6,SE(1st Gen), SE(2nd Gen) are 40mm.

Apple Watch Series 7,8,9 are 41mm.

--> When buying, choose “38/40/41mm“, this size band will work for all the above Apple Watches.

Large Screens

Apple Watch Series 0,1,2,3 are 42mm.

Apple Watch Series 4,5,6,SE(1st Gen), SE(2nd Gen) are 44mm.

Apple Watch Series 7,8,9 are 45mm.

Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2 are 49mm.

--> When buying, choose “42/44/45mm/Ultra“, this size band will work for all the above Apple Watches.

Purchasing a Case or Screen Protector

If you are purchasing an Apple Watch Screen Protector or an Apple Watch Case, you must know the exact size of your screen or it won’t fit. So you will need to choose one of 38mm, 40mm, 41mm, 42mm, 44mm, 45mm or 49mm (for Ultra and Ultra 2).

Measuring Your Wrist Size

After that, the only thing you will need to do is measure your wrist to check the band will fit.

If you have a paper or plastic measuring tape, just wrap it around your wrist to see what your wrist circumference is. If you don’t have one of these, you can cut a strip of paper off the long edge of an A4 sheet, wrap it around your wrist, make a mark where it joins and then take it off and measure how long it was with a ruler.

Adults will typically have a wrist circumference around the 14cm – 23cm mark.
